The power of partnership

I sent my 50th monthly invoice to one of my favourite clients at the end of January.

Now, I could write for days about how lucky I am to work on multiple translation projects every month for an absolute dream client.

But this isn't all about me. What's in it for my client?

Choosing to stick with little old me for all this time means a whole lot of wins for them too...

  • I know their products inside out. And I mean inside out. All the terminology and technicalities and teeny tiny details are right there in my head. Consistency and accuracy are a given.

  • Their brand is my brand. I'm so passionate about the company and their products. Their values, vision and mission? I understand them and I believe in them. I buy their products and I'll talk about them to anyone who asks (sometimes before they even ask).

  • Writing in this brand's English voice comes naturally to me. I've been practising and perfecting the tone for years. The right words just flow and I'm free to get creative with their copy. Sometimes the English translation even sounds cooler than the original German (their words - not mine).

  • I've worked closely with the same contacts for so long that our relationship is solid. The whole process is as smooth and efficient as it gets. They know they can rely on me because I have never let them down. Never ever. That's a layer of stress and uncertainty gone.

  • They make me feel like a genuine part of the team and we work together to craft translations that hit the spot every time. When the whole team cares this much about a brand's success and understands the role that translation plays in achieving that success, that's when the magic happens.

I'm so grateful to my client for trusting me with their translations for all this time. Here's to the next 50 invoices!
